Klüber Klüberalfa XZ 3-1 LV Is a dispersant, solvent and detergent

Klüberalfa XZ 3-1 LV is a dispersant, solvent and detergent for use in combination with PFPE lubricants. Its chemical composition is similar to that of perfluorinated polyether (PFPE). For this reason, lubricants based on PFPE are solved or dispersed in Klüberalfa XZ 3-1 LV. Klüberalfa XZ 3-1 LV is not a chlorinated fluorocarbon (CFC) and is therefore not subject to the CFC/halon prohibition ordinance.
As solvent and detergent: Klüberalfa XZ 3-1 LV may be used to clean friction points prior to the application of PFPE products such as BARRIERTA L55/2. When used on clean surfaces, both the adhesion and the performance of such lubricants are significantly improved. To attain optimum lubrication results, we recommend cleaning the friction point prior to initial application first with white spirit 180/210 and then with Klüberalfa XZ 3-1 LV. Prior to initial lubrication, the friction point should be bright (i.e. free of any residues) and free of dirt particles. As a dispersant: PFPE greases dispersed with Klüberalfa XZ 3-1 LV are used for minimum-quantity lubrication of bearings, chains, small gears, seals and many other components. With Klüberalfa XZ 3-1 LV, the active substance content in dispersions of the Klüberalfa product family can be adjusted to individual needs without difficulty. XZ 3-1 LV is used as a flushing fluid to remove used PFPE grease from components that are difficult to clean. The cleaned surfaces remain free of grease and bright. It may be advisable to protect them against corrosion after cleaning.
To prevent evaporation losses of the product, the container should be tightly closed after use. Behaviour towards elastomers and plastics: when in contact with Klüberalfa XZ 3-1 LV for a relatively short time, elastomers or plastics are in general not expected to suffer damage. Nevertheless we recommend testing compatibility with the material to be used, especially prior to series application.
