Description

Klübertop TP 18-810 N is an air-drying, water-based bonded coating.

Application

Klübertop TP 18-810 N was developed for noise reduction and protection of car seals against freezing. This bonded coating can also be used for the assembly of seals and other components.

Typical application examples include:

– flocked profiled seals
– EPDM profiled seals
– assembly of rubber and TPE components

Application notes

Klübertop TP 18-810 N is dry to the touch after approx. 15 minutes at 25 °C or after 1 minute at 60 °C (temperature of the component and layer thickness 10 µm ) and completely hardened after 24 hours at room temperature. We recommend applying the product to a warm substrate (> 60 °C). The recommended layer thickness for tribological applications is approx. 10 to 20 µm, depending on the specific requirements. Klübertop TP 18-810 N is best applied by spraying.

Spray gun: compressed air or HVLP
Nozzle diameter: 0.8 mm
Feed pressure: 2-4 bar

Make sure to use compressed air that is free of oil and water. Open packs should be closed again immediately after use. Stir Klübertop TP 18-810 N well before use. The stirring process has to be performed for as long as it takes for the solid matter to be uniformly distributed and no deposits or lumps exist. Test using a spatula. We recommend filtering the stirred product through a 150 – 200 µm filter prior to spraying. When applying the product by means of a spray system, we recommend installing an agitator in the storage container to prevent solid particles from settling. Cover the storage container with a lid.

Cleaning

The spraying equipment, storage container etc. can be cleaned with tap water. Dried-up bonded coating residues can be removed by means of a solvent.
