Description

Klüberalfa XZ 3-2 is a ready-to-use dispersion with an active substance content of approx. 18 %. It is based on PFPE oils and contains anticorrosive additives and solid lubricants. Upon application, Klüberalfa XZ 3-2 dries off rapidly, leaving a whitish, protective and lubricating film.

Application

Klüberalfa XZ 3-2 may be recommended for the preservation of machine elements such as rolling bearings for which lubrication with a PFPE grease is intended. The dispersion is compatible with commercially available PFPE lubricants, so cleaning is not required prior to application of the grease.

Klüberalfa XZ 3-2 is also used for the thin-film lubrication of elastomer seals and plastic components. When dried, Klüberalfa XZ 3-2 prevents annoying squeaking noises. It may also contribute significantly to longer component life. The concentration of the product can be adjusted individually by adding the solvent Klüberalfa XZ 3-1.

Behaviour towards elastomers and plastics

Klüberalfa XZ 3-2 is neutral to most elastomer and plastic materials (possible exception: perfluorinated rubber). Nevertheless we recommend testing compatibility with the material to be used, especially prior to series application.

Application notes

Klüberalfa XZ 3-2 can be applied by means of immersion, brush or tumbling. Prior to application, the dispersion should be briefly stirred or shaken to ensure even wetting.

The component should then be left to dry at ambient temperature for at least five minutes.
Prior to application, clean the application surfaces and make sure they are bright (i.e. free of oils, greases, perspiration and dirt particles) for optimum adhesion.
To prevent evaporation losses, the container or immersion vessel should be tightly closed after use.
